Of Shoes and Ships and Sealing-wax

This is the picture of the day!!! It's of a 500 year old olive tree. I know! It's incredible right!?

(well apparently you have to click on that little rectangle to see the picture)

Todays Quote (yes I know I never said anything about a quote but I decided that I really liked them and so I was going to include those in my "___ of the day(s)") :

Nothing discernable to the eye of the spirit is more brilliant or obscure than man; nothing is more formidible, complex, mysterious, and infinite. There is a prospect greater than the sea, and it is the sky; there is a prospect greater than the sky, and it is the human soul.
Victor Hugo, Les Miserables
French dramatist, novelist, & poet (1802 - 1885)

So Les Mis is my favorite musical of all time and so I thought this would be fitting for my blog. Since it is about what I want on here and not what you want...(I mean...it IS my blog!)

Word of the day is: Floccinaucinihilipilification-The action or habit of judging something to be worthless.
The reason why I picked this word today is because it is completely rediculous. And I love completely rediculous things!

Today I would really love to be in France. Seeing as how I bought myself a new hat and scarf that looks very artistic. I really feel like I should be in France, with all the Francy people!

You may be wondering from my last post what the Faroe Islands are! They are a very insignificant, hard to see, middle of nowhere, little islands. The only reason I really know about these is because one of my best friends lives there! I met her in school, she was an excange student, and no one knew where in the halibut she was from. So now I am trying my best to get those little islands out there! YOU DO EXIST! I PROMISE!

My other best friend is currently writing a book that should get published, and most deffinately will anyways (if she decides to pic up the pace!). You should look at her blog Violet Strike.

"The time has come", the Walrus said,
"To talk of many things:
Of shoes and ships and sealing-wax,
And cabbages and kings."

carpe diem!
